I've been dining here for years and it is one of my favorite places. Sylvester and his wife own the place and take pride in making sure your meal is great.
Order the Tacos Mexicanos (on the back of the menu). They are authentic and have great fresh flavor.
If you're traveling on I-10 and are looking for something fresh, stop here to eat. The town of Monticello has some good shops too. -

We drove out here for dinner for my daughter's birthday at her request. Everyone got something different. Prices were very affordable at $3 for a kids meal and $7 for a combo platter. Tip order the bean dip and get something with enchilada sauce. Both tasted homemade and were great! They didn't have draft beer which I like with my Mexican so minus one star but the bottle beer selection was decent. The hubs basically licked his plate clean. He said the chimichanga was legit. We shall return!

If you're looking for great Mexican food, look no further. If you're looking for anything else, then maybe somewhere else. The food is better than anywhere else, with exception of their sister restaurant in Madison. That place is a 5 star.
The staff is very attentive and polite. All of the staff are very efficient, which is impressive. What keeps them from a 5 star is the place needs a serious upgrade. Tables, walls, chairs are extremely worn, and need of fresh paint. Restrooms leave a lot to be desired. I'm sure them ladies have second thoughts about its use. However, that dissipates when you get your food. The Tamales are made fresh, in house. Which is a positive when you want authentic Mexican food. If you're wanting great food? You've found it. -

Let's see, a Monticello staple, great food, excellent service, centrally located, reasonable prices. A winner all the way around. If you come during lunch or dinner, especially on the weekends, there could be a wait to get a table. That alone speaks volumes about Rancho. Oh and did I mention huge margaritas? whoops, that too!!!! I have been here about 10 years ago and will have to come back more often!

As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with chips and salsa. We ordered margaritas and they arrived right after. The drink was good, I'd personally add another shot of tequila to it. The queso was very tasty and just right for a small and light app. The enchilada and tamal were very delicious and had the perfect blend of savory and spicy. The tacos were very fresh, and the rice and received beans on every dish were awesome!
